Selecting electronic components (maybe a microcontroller) I am looking for some advice on selecting electronic components (maybe a microcontroller) for an elevator enunciator I am building. An elevator enunciator tells the elevator operator which floor is calling. The Building has 24 stories each with a momentary contact single pole switch The enunciator sits in the elevator cab it has a buzzer,(to alert the operator someone is calling) 24 LEDs (to show which floor is calling) and 2 momentary push button switches (for the operator to turn off lit LEDs ). Because of a limitation in using the existing elevator traveling cable I am limited to no more than 9 wires going to the elevator cab, (that includes power). I appreciate any advice you can offer. I would like to know, how dificult is to build a device to detect the presence of human voice in a signal coming from a microphone.
