			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This vertically mounted float transducer series offers a reliable and economical means of tank level monitoring suitable for a wide variety of applications and liquids.  Available with either brass or 316 stainless steel mounts and stainless, polypropylene or Buna-N floats, the C3957 features a 5mm resolution, while the C3946 offers a 10mm resolution.  Each model has a simple two- or three-wire connection.</p>
<p>These sensors contain a chain of equally spaced magnetic switches and resistors in sensing lengths to 96 inches.  When activated by the moving magnetic float, the switch chain creates a variable resistance signal that is then converted to a proportional voltage (1-5VDC) or current output, (4-20 mA) through a 24VDC powered circuit board located within the compact stem.  The output can then be routed to a meter, programmable controller or other readout or receiver.  The float transducers can also be equipped with separate high and/or low float switches for independent alarm signals.</p>
<p>Unlike many solid state level transmitters, this series is unaffected by conductivity or dielectric properties of the liquid.  &#8220;If it floats&#8230;it works!&#8221;  The integral circuit board design and robust brass or stainless tube resists shock and vibration, making it ideal for off-road vehicle fuel tanks, generator tanks and more.</p>
<p>The series offers a low-cost, buoyancy-based alternative to other level sensing technologies and compliments an ever-growing selection of dependable OEM-priced products.</p>

<p>This is a magnetically activated Reed Sensor.  The sensor is supplied as a set, with the mating actuator magnet.  The sensor and the magnet are supplied in a robust aluminum housing, which is designed for screw fastening.  The sensor is typically mounted to the fixed surface, while the actuating magnet is mounted on the moving surface.  Introduction or removal of the magnetic field determines the closing and opening of the Reed Switch.</p>
<p>The robust aluminum housing protects the magnet and sensor from extreme environmental conditions, as well as against vandalism or sabotage.  Additionally, the cable, unlike other standard sensors, is insulated with a metal jacket, providing an additional security feature.  The Reed Sensor &amp; Actuator Magnet are particularly suitable for use in alarm systems, position and end position sensing, door and window control, commercial vehicles, engineering, mining, forestry, construction and agricultural machinery.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h1>Advanced Technology Front Loaders Use LVDT in Electro-Hydraulic Steering System</h1>
<p>A novel LVDT with interchangeable core has been designed and developed to accurately measure the position of an Electro-Hydraulic servo-valve for monitoring and closed-loop control of hydraulic systems for rough environment of off-road vehicles.  This rugged, high accuracy LVDT measures the spool position of a proportional electro-hydraulic servo-valve, and will ensure safe operation of front loaders by immediately detecting faults.  It includes a microprocessor for self-diagnostic, fault detection, and temperature &amp; linearity correction.</p>
<p>This extremely rugged, highly accurate, analog transducer features digital calibration of the voltage output, digital linearity correction, and temperature compensation using unique technology.  The total error band over this temperature range is typically 1%, including probe interchangeability (a great feature in hydraulic systems as the LVDT can be replaced without the need for bleeding) over an operating temperature range of -40ºC to +120ºC.  The robust transducer is designed to function with hydraulic pressure applied to the stainless steel front face and spool tube, which are joined by a weld to form a pressure isolation tube.</p>
<p>Versions with 4-20mA output, CAN-OPEN or other standard communication protocols based on specific customer needs can be provided.  We can also easily provide mechanical packages adapted to your needs— for example, for high volume applications using plastic molded housings for even lower costs.</p>
<p>The software includes a self diagnostic sequence at power on, which allows testing the electronic circuit before it is integrated into the assembly and during field use.  It also performs monitoring functions to signal faults and failures to the system with which it interfaces.</p>
<p>For lower volume applications, we also have a full line of catalog transducers and signal conditioners, some of which are designed for operation in pressure media such, as hydraulic fluids or others.  These products are often customized to OEM customer applications.</p>

<p>The Nickel RTD temperature sensors for high volume vehicle and industrial applications are specifically designed for harsh applications.  The Ni1000 in an oil resistant SOT package (2.4mm × 2.9mm × 1.1mm) is ideal for space limited applications and is plug-compatible with PCB boards.  Operating from -55°C to +160°C, this sensor exhibits almost twice the sensitivity of sensors employing Platinum technology.</p>
<p>The Nickel RTD temperature sensor has a linear positive temperature curve with almost twice the sensitivity of a Platinum sensor, and can be supplied in a standard accuracy configuration (DIN 43760), or with custom specific versions on request.  The Model Ni1000 in an SOT package features miniature dimensions (2.4 mm × 2.9 mm × 1.1 mm) that allow it to be used in a wide variety of space limited applications.</p>
<p>The rugged design has harsh environmental protection that enables the Ni1000SOT to plug onto a PCB, and to be immersed into hot motor oil without any additional protective packaging.  This greatly facilitates ease of installation, and ensures potential for cost-reduction in dedicated applications.  Further, its operating temperature range of -55°C to +160°C makes it application-compatible with requirements for the use in motor oil and hydraulic systems.</p>
<p>Laser trimming during production ensures a very high process, while innovative wafer technology makes the product very competitive.  Application engineers are standing by to work with challenging applications develop customized probes, with the capability to produce this temperature sensor in high volumes for vehicle or Industrial application under ISO TS16949 regulations.</p>

<p>The pick-up series is an economical and reliable way to monitor motor speed.  Its unique design provides ease of installation in otherwise difficult to reach areas.  The pick-up operates at a 5 to 24 volt level, producing a sharp square wave output, which may be fed into field-programmable tachometers, closed-loop controls, counters, or any other digital device.  The pick-up series also includes a quadrature model to monitor both motor speed and direction by providing two square wave output signals 81° out-of-phase.</p>
<p>There are two versions of the product: The NEW version is rated for outdoor applications where temperature, humidity, rain and dust are present.  This version is recommended for applications where occaisional water washdown is expected.</p>
<p>Completely self contained, the pick-up series eliminates the alignment hassle found with other devices.  Encapsulated sensor head is dust and dirt resistant.  An excellent &#8220;Motor Not Running&#8221; feedback device to PLC/SCADA systems.</p>

<p>A microprocessor based digital speed potentiometer that can directly replace a conventional, 3-wire analog speedpot or motorized speedpot for most AC and DC drives.  The desired set speed is entered into the large, ½ inch LED display through the convenient frontpanel interface, and display units are now programmable for virtually any unit of measure.</p>
<p>The attractive panel mount unit is easy to install in industry standard 1/8 DIN cut-out dimensions.  The electrically isolated common signal permits direct wiring from the unit terminal block to the drive’s potentiometer terminal points.</p>
<p>This speed pot offers the same enhanced display options and capabilities featured in our other digital control products, as well as the Universal Power Supply and rugged screw type terminal strip.</p>

<p>This is ideal for new equipment, as well as for retrofitting most AC or DC drive systems where precise, repeatable speed setting and digital readout are desired.  It is also ideal in applications where high vibration and other environmental factors can cause normal speedpot settings to drift.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h1>Don&#8217;t Let Freezing Temperatures Fry Your Sensor</h1>
<p>Measuring water pressure in freezing temperatures can damage sensitive electronic pressure measuring instrumentation.  Despite an operator’s best effort to drain and purge water from a system, a small diaphragm cavity and pressure passage inside the transducer’s sensor can trap or hold water.  When frozen, the expanding ice can force the diaphragm beyond its travel limits, causing it to permanently distort.  Once the ice is melted away, the transducer will no longer return to zero, rendering it unusable and requiring replacement.</p>
<h2>Engineered Solution</h2>
<p>To eliminate the problem, engineers have developed a unique modification in which a stable, emulsified lubricant is injected into the diaphragm cavity and most of the inlet passage.  This viscous material displaces air and seals the cavity, thus preventing water from contacting the diaphragm and settling in the cavity.  Once injected, the emulsion adheres to the inner walls of the sensor and forms a thin skin inside the inlet passage, preventing it from leaking out of the sensor, even when the transducer is mounted in the upright position.  As water pressure is introduced, the emulsion serves as a translation medium, exerting a force upon the diaphragm equal to the force exerted upon it by the pressurized water.</p>
<h2>Effect on Performance</h2>
<p>With the addition of the translation medium, a slight deviation from the transducer’s advertised specifications for accuracy and response time may result.  However, in most applications, this variance may be regarded as insignificant.</p>
<h2>Common Applications</h2>
<p>Pressure transducers equipped with this modification are intended exclusively for use in monitoring water pressure in environments with freezing temperatures.  Such installations may include irrigation systems, firefighting equipment, snow making equipment and frozen food processing.</p>

<p>Our Reed Sensors have expanded with the addition of our new Single-Pole Double-Throw switch with a 14mm glass body.  This SPDT (Form C) surface mount sensor comes in two lead designs, lead design 1 (straight cut axial lead) and lead design 2 (“Gull Wing” with coined bent leads).  The sensor comes in 5 contact sensitivity ranges (B, C, D, E, &amp; F).  Choose from glass sizes ranging from 7mm-21mm in low and high power configurations.  This Series is a non-molded version of our surface mount sensors, offering a more economic and compact design as compared to our over-molded sensors.  The series is sold in Tape &amp; Reel packing, and is suitable for pick and place automation.  Reed Sensors are magnetically actuated, and are ideal in applications that require little or no external power to operate.  This Series offers versatility in that it can be designed into any application where single or multi-point position or liquid level sensing is required.</p>
<h2>Surface Mount Reed Sensors</h2>
<p>They are magnetically actuated, open Reed proximity Switches for SMT mounting.</p>

<p>The 29PS HVAC pressure switch utilizes a snap-acting stainless steel Klixon disc that reverses its curvature when pressurized above a customer specified actuation pressure.  When the disc snaps it opens a set of electrical contacts by means of a transfer pin.  Resetting of the switch must be accomplished manually by pressing the integrated reset button.</p>
<p>The unique latching mechanism in the 29PS HVAC pressure switch design assures safe electrical cutout even if the reset button is held fully depressed.  This trip-free design prevents the consumer from restarting the equipment until the line pressure has dropped below the release setpoint.</p>
<p>The welded, hermetic sensor of the 29PS HVAC pressure switch provides increased reliability and maintenance-free operation for the lifetime of the switch.  The actuation and release pressures of the disc are factory calibrated, simplifying installation and helping make the 29PS HVAC pressure switch tamper resistant.  The epoxy potting and rubber boot provide an enviornmental seal for the switch mechanism, protecting it from dust, oil and moisture.</p>
